Happy Sunday!

Watching the Wings and packing.  Packing to return to the University of Iowa this week.

Why are we needing another trip to Iowa?  Well, following our trip last week, we came home with great news.  Dr. O’Dorisio told us that David is a good candidate for the Y90 treatment in Basel, Switzerland.  They would begin compiling all information that needs to be sent to Basel and then having it Fed Ex’d over there.   Then, two days later, we received a phone call from another of Dr. O’Dorisio’s staff telling us that the Octreotide scan that he had a few weeks previous was not clear enough and that it would need to be repeated.  I will say that news was not news we were happy to hear.  If you know anything about expensive medical tests and insurance companies, you realize that they do not generally pay for the same expensive test 3 weeks in a row.  So, along with the loss of work time and the nuisance factor, there was the expense to think about.  Fortunately, Sue told us that there is a clinical trial commencing there at the VA on the grounds of the University of Iowa that David can join.  Being a part of this trial, means that they pay for the cost of the scans and also our lodging while we are there.  Thank God!  I am constantly amazed at how God has His hand in our lives on a daily basis!  We are so thankful and blessed to have this opportunity.

So, we will head out on Tuesday.  David will receive the scan (actually the details of this trial are that they do the CT and Octreotide simultaneously) and then we’ll be back home later in the week.

I will, as always, keep you posted.

Thank you for all your prayers and support.

Love, Connie
